You just have to laugh at people like this. Not with, but at. Here is the original listing: "For sale are some silver coins: 1903 Liberty Head 5 cent circulated~ $3 1931 Mercury Dime circulated~ $5 1942 Walking Liberty Half-Dollar circulated~ $15 1898 Morgan Silver Dollar Very Fine~ $55 Take it all for $75! Silver is going up! ***All coins in individual sleeve/ case" I thought, "Hey, I collect 1931 Mercury dimes...I'll write to the guy, make him a fair offer, maybe educate him on the fact that nickels have nickel in them, not silver..." So I wrote him a polite email explaining what his coins were worth, included links to sites like Numismedia and Coinflation, and then told him what I'd like to pay for just the Mercury Dime (also broke it down whether it had a D or S on the back.) I tried. This is his response: "My coins are worth more than just the silver value buddy don’t spam me with your b*******." I mean, really? I sent him an email wishing him good luck selling his coins. With this type...that's all you can do...because you can't laugh at them and walk away. Stupid Internet.
He'll probably keep his coins unless he finds someone more insipid than he is. "Genius without education is like silver in the mine." B. Franklin.
