I took a trip to Dorney Park with my friend yesterday and received this in change... I was wondering what it might grade (I'm not that familiar with pennies) and what it might be worth. This is my very first VDB that I have found in circulation so i was pretty excited, especially since it is over 100 years old!!! Thanks -Kyle
It looks like VF to me, but you are going to have to get larger and clearer pictures to know for sure.
That's a great find, I've been looking through my change for over thirty years and have never found a VDB. Looks VF-20 to me.
Why not just look it up? This is not a date where the value changes much from one circ grade to the next, so doing so should give a decent estimate. Also, check completed ebay listings since this date often sells under most guides.
I'd say around $10 or so. Maybe a little less than that. http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_sad...Individual&Mint%20Location=Philadelphia&rt=nc
So this 1909 cent isn't that high in value. BUT if it were a 1909-S vbd at say F12 you have a nice $900 chunk of cash. Keep looking and having fun.
