1943 S War Nickel. It's amazing to me how these either look gorgeous or awful.

1952 Franklin half. Found this one last week, an ender to boot! Had a tough time taking a picture, it looks much better in hand.

1971 D Kennedy half with a weird error. There's a diamond-shaped dent in the middle of his head.

And the 1982 P Kennedy half I found today. Not a trace of an FG on the reverse.

I got some serious dumping to do tomorrow morning...Then also picking up several boxes of dimes again before the banks close - hope to accomplish all of this before the banks close early as I need to spread my dumps over 3 or 4 banks.

Penny Arcade just worked out in my favor. Had $300 skunk CWR halves. Somehow the machine actually got jammed. Not sure what happened, but the total came out to $302 in the end. That paid for yesterday's halves that I kept! Me likey!

Picked up 2 boxes of halves from my new mini silver mine bank today.

Opened the first box and immediately saw a Franklin ender, and a Walking Liberty ender. I freaked out and flipped them both over... and the Walker had ANOTHER Walking Liberty on the other side!

Here's the other side of the Walker roll:

The roll with the Franklin ender didn't have any other silver coins, but the double WL ender roll had another 2 WLs in it. The whole box had 7 Walking Libertys in total, as well as 2x 40%ers and the Franklin. A great box! I didn't manage to pick up these boxes in time for my August results, but that just means September is off to a fantastic start.

The tellers at the bank offered to order me another set of boxes but I declined. I don't want to wear out my welcome there too quickly and my other sources have been coughing up pretty regularly so I'll wait a week or two before ordering again.

I haven't opened the rolls in the other box yet, but awesomely enough it did have a single 40% ender. I've been on another ender streak lately. I'll make another big post in the thread tomorrow.

Would a bank be willing to order part of a box of halves?

That can't be done, but they might be willing to let you pick up part of it at a time.

Incredible score Atreides! Are those the first walking liberties you have found? I have found a few of them in my days of searching, they are such a thrill to find, definitely my favorite coin pulled from circulation, and probably my favorite coin overall. I'm sure you were dying to open that double WL ender, as I would have been, but you could have sold that on ebay for a crap load.

I gave up nickel roll searching 2 years ago, but today I caved into the urge to try a few rolls again. My results ($ 20):
    1940 P
    1952-D
    1953-D
    1955-D
    1958-D (2)
The experience reminded me why I quit. I know there are still a few good finds out there if you are persistent, but really, things are really getting quite picked over.

It was my first WL ender but not my first WL, but in August I found a CWR with 10 WLs and 8 BFs, including a 38D. Lots of luck with walkers lately!

Did a box of halves today. 5 40%ers, 2 NIFC, and the surprise: a 1895 British One Penny. Not worth anything, but it was neat getting a Victoria Penny in a box of halves.
