First off, those lines are die polish lines. They are obviously there in hand, but not nearly so glaring. My understanding is that they count little toward the grade. This coin has great luster, great strike and only a couple nicks but there are a few small planchet marks showing with a loupe. There are also a couple small spots on the reverse. Definitely better than a 65, but too much noise for a 67. Guess what that leaves.
Hey everyone! Irish missed one, but it is going to be a while before someone catches him. ldhair moved into second and ddoomm1 joined the top ten again. Top 10. Columns are rank, name, average, and number of guesses. The coin must look better in hand , or the pics really made the hits on Lincolns head and body look worse than they are .
Agreed! I'm so ticked for talking myself out of MS-66. Gave NO regards to the polish lines, but didn't think PCGS would grade 66 with the "hits" or planchet flaws. I bet in hand MS-66 is a no brainer.
