I know, shocking, two modern coins instead of ancients. I collect them all :D

A panama pill and a victoria sillver three half pence. Both ebay photos.

Panama coin was minted in the u.s. so it should count in this thread ;)

1915 Matte Proof Lincoln. PCGS PR65BN. This is a true rarity. There are only (roughly) 263 PCGS-slabbed 1915 MPLs in existence -- and only 41 of those slabbed coins have a higher grade than PR65.

My colorful PCGS-graded Matte Proof Lincoln collection is now up to four coins.

This is a nice zoomed up image of the obverse showing the tremendous detail (especially noticeable in Lincoln's hair and beard) that you get on these early Lincoln Proofs. This image also provides a nice view of the very wide, flat, and squared off rims ... which is a signature detail of Matte Proof Lincoln Cents.

Your set is the definition of fire and ice and everything in between. I am looking forward to seeing the next addition.

3 1974-P's for 3 and they actually look rather clean, surface wise, for a buck each..

In my opinion, business strike Liberty Head Nickels are among the ugliest coins the mint has ever made. Same thing for the 3 Cent Nickel. But in Proof Cameo, I have a whole different opinion. Just bought my first one. NGC MS PF 66 Cameo. Courtesy of Evan at Aspen Park Rare Coins.

Yeah, my next rainy day project is to try to photograph all the coins in the set. Only missing the 1972 and 1973 40% Proofs in PR69DC.

    Congrats on being near completion.
Do you plan to slowly upgrade once it's complete?

    1940 S Jefferson.jpg 1948 Franklin.jpg

Just picked these up this afternoon. There was originally a 56 Franklin I saw last week I wanted to get with that 48 and I was disappointed when I saw it had been purchased before I could get it, but then I saw that 40 S Jefferson and forgot about the Franklin.

NOTE: That dark line to the left of the dome of Monticello is a carpet fiber, not a scratch. I noticed when I was editing the photos and didn't feel like prying the coin back out of the fresh 2x2 I just put it in to reshoot it.

Yeah as things come available at a fair price. I feel like I was able to put together this set at a really fair price so far with the help of people at the ikegroup and some good ebay scores. I feel like I am starting with really good coins so being able to tell what is an upgrade and what is an overgrazed piece should be easier.
