Searching for my last half, a capped bust. Wanted some opinions, thanks. http://www.ebay.com/itm/11094351111...AX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649#ht_4281wt_802 http://www.ebay.com/itm/20080829258...AX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649#ht_3315wt_784 Again, thanks for all the help. I really do appreciate the advice.
Like the 40 better than the 45, but frankly I'd pass on both. Bust halves are common coins and you can can afford to be very picky. You can do better, IMO.
Well I like the 45 better, but I think you can beat that price. I think the 40 is priced correctly just a little two dark for my tastes. Neither are bad, but I agree you could do better. Have you checked heritage lately?
I'm not a heritage member. I'm In contact with a guy who had some coins on collectorscorner, we'll see what comes of that.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/11094351111...AX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649#ht_4281wt_802 That actually doesn't look to bad and it is a good price. I'm not an expert in pricing but I'd pull the trigger on that.
You should become a member of heritage. If for nothing else to use the auction archives they have available. This will help determine if ebay costs are reasonable. There is a nice 1834 XF40 coin on heritage now. Bidding on heritage is easy just keep in mind 17.5% buyers premium. And shipping seems to run between 8 to 12. It is a great resource even if you never bid.
I agree with everyone else, neither is a coin that I would run after. Not that there is anything wrong with them, but for a type coin, it would be easy to do better.
try this one which is blast white http://www.ebay.com/itm/1833-Capped...ps=63&clkid=1715481149087529669#ht_585wt_1124
Sorry about that mrB. So I came across this and something about it I can't figure out. It seems low priced but why, there's nothing on the slab about it being cleaned, or is the picture blurry. It seems like a nice coin but something off. http://www.ebay.com/itm/390460764669?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649
I don't know about the pricing but that coin was not tagged as harshly cleaned do to either happenstance or the general bias that the TPGs have against making that judment for Capped Busts. If that was a Morgan, it would have come back cleaned.
Common? Compared to what?... Morgans? Circulated, post-1964 Washington Quarters? I guess peoples' definition of the word "common" varies greatly. -Brian
Ok, good. Yay, in glad I was able to I.d. That. Thanks a lot. I think I'm looking for a little color to go with my seated half. I'd feel funny if all coins were white except for a poop brown seated lol. I'd prefer to have both older coins be colored so they don't stand out as much.
