Split Rim - 1968-D Kennedy

    Hey all, found this:

    I don't know how this would be defined. There is a clear separation along the edge of the rim on the obverse.

    Any idea as to what this is or the cause?

    Huh, kooky. It looked like somebody tried to make a magicians coin or something... almost like I could peal the obverse right out of the socket.

    In the scrap silver pile it goes!

    I've seen this happen to pennies, nickels, dimes, quarters, and now halves! Must be common compared to most errors.
