I heard that there is equipment from the mint on display. The 1851-O 3 cent, which is supposed to be something special is there. I think it would be interesting to see the equipment. Is it worth the trip?

It takes a working man to sing a working song.

Don't know. Apparently, no one else from Cointalk.Org has been there either.

I have seen the Gallery Mint Museum set-ups at a couple of ANA conventions and the old machinery is always alluring, to be sure.

I've never even been to New Orleans. It's nice to know about the museum, though. If I ever do get there, I'll be sure to stop and have a look. ;)

I was just in New Orleans and visited the mint. It now houses a jazz museum and has a small (overpriced) store that sells some coins. I didn't see anything mint-related on display, though.

If everything costs a mint is that why they call it a mint? If I sell old coins can I be a museum? Questions to ponder.
