1976 D Quarter

    I found this quarter in a roll today it is by far the best coin i have found,what grade would you give it? 1976 D Obverse.jpg 1976 D Reverse.jpg

    I'd say probably AU or better.

    I can't tell if it's AU or MS. If it is in fact MS I'd say 65. If it's AU then it's a 58

    It looks like it got away from a mint set.

    It might be (or have been) MS-66. Except for a little strike weakness it loiks very good.

    I have compared this quarter to MS67 PCGS GRADED quarters on ebay and this coin has more luster.

    What about detail? I can't tell how much circulation it has seen to tell for sure if it's AU or MS

    The strike looks good to me; the hair detail is amazing for a quarter from the 70s. I'm surprised it was in circulation (even if for a small time) yet does not have any contact marks.

    It has two contact marks that are very hard to see look just below the eye. 1976 D.jpg

    I just looked at it with a 10x Hastings Loupe it may be doubled.
