    Hello-
I am working on cataloguing my grandfather's coin collection into some sort of table or document file. I was wondering if any of you had any good tips or suggestions? Thank you in advance!

There is plenty of software, some free, some pay. You can use NGC Collection Manager for free. I dont know about PCGS, but I am sure they have their branded equivalent to NGC: http://www.ngccoin.com/news/viewarticle.aspx?IDArticle=1686.

I personally use NGC and separately a simple Excel spreadsheet. Excel would be the way I would go if your coins are not TPG graded. You could make it as simple or complex as you want.

I use coin elite and excel. Been a few years since I updated coin elite but I use it for total inventory. I use excel for tracking what is in some of my dansco albums.

The coins that I have are not rated, so excel sounds like a good option. It is a lot to get my head around, but I am having a lot of fun. I hope to continue the collection and pass it onto one of my nieces or nephews someday. Thanks for the help!

I use Excel and I think you will find a significant number of other dealers and collectors also use Excel.

Excel for me. I tried a few sites and programs but did not like them. Plus the customization with Excel is actually fun.
