    Those look like 2 dirty, circulated cents, anything specific your looking at?

    I think he's asking about color.

    Both are brown.

    we tried to clean them but they wont change color.

    Since they're worth face, if you want to shine them up, try ketchup. Rinse in warm water, then dry with a paper towel.

    Well since they're only worth face anyway, and it really isn't going to hurt them anymore than they are now, ketchup with a warm water rinse is a good idea.

    I wouldn't do this to red Lincolns, but these ones it's not going to matter.

    Hey BUnc... you won't get an argument from me. I keep thinking of all the purist that would be screaming "don't clean your coins". Personally, I couldn't care less. In fact, if someone told me not to clean a coin, I would clean it just for spite.

    And I had the welts to prove it! Actually, it's the tone of some members when telling someone not to clean a coin. They bark it out like a drill instructor. No need to do that, just let the person know (in this case the OP) that cleaning of coins is generally not accepted by the numismatic community.
