My father recently gave me his old coin collection. I have been digging through figuring out what everything is and which ones (if any) have any value. This is one of the mystery coins. It is about the size of a Morgan Dollar. I put it inside the air-tight container. I'm sure its value is probably only that of an ounce of silver, I'm just curious where it came from.

Its not anything that came from the US mint, most likely a private party minted this, and if I were to guess, I'd say your correct on the value of it.

It appears to be a silver round manufactured by a private mint. If silver, it is worth bullion value +/- some premium. IMO it is attractive. There is a strong colector base for silver rounds.

Silver round made by a private mint. Which mint? I have no idea there have been dozens if not hundreds of private mints that have produced over ten thousand different designs of silver rounds over the years. Very few of them ever put an identifying mark on their products.

That's some good sleuthing! I had searched all over google and looked at thousands of photos. Even though there are quite a few indian-head designs, I had not seen one exactly the same.

It's not a coin. It's a token of a silver round, valued at market value only.
