Hello. I am new to this site. My Dad gave me some coins that he had been collecting. I have searched through hundreds of wheat pennies, some indian head pennies, 1924 s and 1944 d dimes some coins from different countries. I am trying to find a website that will let me know the uniqueness of some of these coins. I do have one in particular that i was wondering about and its a 1892 s morgan dollar. I am just starting to get into this and was just wondering if i could get some feedback and some tips on what to look for and if this coin in particular is of any worth keeping around. pics below. 009.jpg 012.jpg 013.jpg

Welcome. Your coin looks like it grades VG. Here are a couple of resources for you:

    (1) PCGS Photograde Online. Get an idea of the grades of your coins, here.

    (2) PCGS Price Guide. Look up the prices at those grades, here.

This is all pretty much self-explanatory. Just note the Price Guide is for PCGS-graded coins, only (i.e., it tracks the market value of those coins, only).

Got any questions, you know where to find us. Good luck. :smile

    EDIT:

The picture is too blurry to give exact specifics. But I would say its a Very Good grade. According to Numismedia the value of the coin is $43, selling wise it would most likely bring melt value only. I would hold on to it simply for sentimental value.

The 92-S is only worth $25-$30. It really starts jumping in value at XF or better.

Thank you all for the info. Im not really interested in any specific coins. I just thought that i would try and keep his little collection going so that i can pass it down to my kids.
