    I have a1938s that looks like a steel penny, no copper. Any ideas I will post a picture when my son sends it.

    Its probably plated as in 1938 cents were made with 95% copper.

    Be careful.
    Don't handle it until you know more.
    If it's been dipped in mercury it is toxic even to touch.
