    The first official inaugural medal wasn't struck until 1901..McKinley I believe.If yours looks like this picture,it is a 20th century strike designed by no other than George T. Morgan himself.

    My home town in Vallejo has a big coin club they have coin shows four or five times a year. I live in AZ now but look up coin shows in the paper it might help.
