I dont know if any other members do this but I search coin rolls from the bank.I sometimes get 10.00 - 15.00 dollars in rolls sometimes all pennies sometimes all nickels or dimes and so forth to search when im bored.
I have been pretty lucky in my searching of rolls.
cents - 87 wheat and 44 canadian and 1 coin that has 1 pfennic ?
nickels - 3 silver nickels 1 coin that says 5 pence ? and 1 bermuda
    dimes - 2 mercury 1 silver roosevelt and a 1996 w roosevelt
quarters - 6 canadian 1 bahamas and 1 from panama
    half d. - 2-1964 1-1965 1-1970-d and a franklin
There are a few more but i cant think of them right now but all in all some good finds.
The coin i want to ask about is a lincoln cent with no obverse strike just the reverse.
Can anybody tell me what this error is called and is it worth much ????

It could be damage--a fake....or an error.
Could you post a photo?....also you might want to get the weight of the coin.
It could be an die cap strike.

I will get the weight but I dont have a digi camera just old school 35mm I will see if I cant bum one for a little while

when I put it next to another lincoln they look to have the same thickness.

The coin does not exhibit any scratchs like someone filed or sanded it down.

Does it have an upset rim on both sides?

No it does not......Flat as a pancake on the one side.

It also dosn't look like it has the copper coating on the obverse ??

Then there's little doubt but what it was filed/sanded down on that side after it was released into circulation.

Yeah when I look at the pics of it enlarged.......I can see the scratches but to hold it and touch it it feels very smooth.....

Yep, it is possible but very unlikely to creat a one sided strike coin, but when it occurs the blank side is NOT "flat as a pancake".

You found a 1996 W dime in circulation, that is amazing since they minted them specially for collectors!! Someone must have broken into dads collection!!

Not only that but a 1970-D half as well- I'm still trying to find one in circulation, no luck yet even after searching $34,000 worth of halves.
