    Speaking of nickels, isn't the current reverse the oldest rev on our coins? Isn't it due for a makeover? My candidate is the buffalo design from the 2005 Westward series.

    No, I don't think that it should be changed. The closer to the same they can keep it, the less amount of people will take notice that it is old. If you change it, people will know that the old ones are different and keep them, meaning less for me to find. Just like the wheat cent.

    Wouldn't the Washington quarter e older though?

    Yes, year of release was 1932, compared to 1938 for the Jefferson nickel.

    Just reread his post, and he specified reverse. Washington would be oldest obverse.
