I'm as happy as a clam right now because I got lucky last night and won a bid on a 1942 proof cent that has been graded by NGC at PR63. I know it's not a high grade for a proof, but I was able to purchase this one for 37.50, that's including shipping. Can anyone tell me what this coin should be worth graded by a TPG or raw. Please state you source. This will be the rarest coin I own 32,600 produced. Besides I'm a proof collecting freak and I not sure if I'll soon get a buy like this again. By that I mean one I can afford.
Nice buy!!! I have been watching some coins that I hope to add to my collection but the best one I've won is a 1914-D Cent in F12 ANACS!! Speedy
Coin Values gives this coin a value of about $50. A little guess work if it's an RD or RB. Assuming it's an RD I got a best guess value of $50 because all they list is a 63RB, 64RB... Nice find
Values are pretty much all over the place ranging from $25 to around $60 - all from Heritage. So I'd say you did OK
I'd say you paid a fair price. The completed auctions, that I looked at, ranged from $26.87, to $34.87 for TPG graded PR-63 examples. Didn't see any unslabbed, but I would think that they could be had from a reputable dealer for a little less.
Wow! That all good news. Thanks for the input on where to look for more beauties like this one. I can't wait to see this one up close and personal. Yes it is a RD.
