Weak Strike Penny?

    Hey, everyone. I've had this penny for a while now, but only recently came across it again. What do you guys think? Could it be a minting error?

    The date is hard to see, but think it's either 1981 or 1984.

    Looks like it was struck through a late stage die cap...

    Either that or struck w/ a grease-filled die, but it's difficult to tell with your near thumbnail-sized photos.

    I'm leaning towards the first mentioned. :)

    Agree with the die cap, doesn't look like a grease filled die
