1880 $20 Legal Tender Grade opinion

    What do you all think the grade is on this? I don't have it in hand yet, and I am hoping there aren't any pinholes along the heavy fold in the middle. Thanks.

    If the paper holds up, a solid VF25 to me.

    I concur - VF25. There's a tear at the bottom of the center fold and some staining.

    +1 with the VF 25. A TPG may give it an apparent designation with the tear and staining though.

    Thanks for the input everyone. This came in today, no pinholes. I'm banking on this coming back as at least VF20 without net grading, fingers crossed. I've seen plenty of the same note in very similar condition (mild staining) slabbed VF20/25 without a designation on the holder. The staining seems amplified in the photography as well, its not as bad IRL.

    You may luck out with the VF25 without notation of problems. Probably a $400-550 note. Good luck.
