Opinions on this 1914 D Buffalo Nickel with a mint clip? What do you think it should grade at, and does the clip add/detract from the value of the coin? Thanks everyone!
If the 'clip' is on the obverse at about 7:00, then it is a rim ding. Nope, never slab. Gee, I hope this isn't against the rules.
I'll get a better shot of the clip once I get back to school (it's sitting in my apt.) Definitely looks like a clip to me in hand.
It's a toss up with all the wear on it. First glance says it's a bump. But, there does appear to be the Blakesley effect on the opposite side. With all the wear, it's just a guess.
When I get back to my school apt on Wednesday, I'll take a better shot of the edge. Regardless of the clip/rim damage, what do you guys think this coin is worth?
It's right above the buffalo's head. IMO it's a clip, but one that small usually has no premium. Here's a jefferson i have.
