    Hey all,

I recently decided to sell some Canadian silver Five Cent pieces via eBay - but I am wondering if you have any tips on the shipping policies? I know that in the US I can ship with free delivery confirmation and a tracking number - but I don't think that applies when it crosses the border. Any info on this?

    Thanks!

    Benjamin,

I have shipped a few items to Canada via Ebay and I don't recall there being any extra cost for delivery confirmation and a tracking number. The only difference, of course, was the customs form for shipping which is conveniently printed out and only requires your signature.

The only extra requirement, in theory, is that you are supposed to physically hand your item to a post office person or your local carrier. In reality, it will still get shipped if you drop it in a public mail receptacle but I always went to the post office just to make sure I was following USPS protocol.

    Regards,

Thanks, Kurt. I've done some reading on eBay/PayPal's site and found that USPS offers International First Class for $5.75 with tracking...so I've set up the auctions to allow that as a shipping option.

And I ALWAYS make sure it gets scanned before I leave the PO. My local PO has stolen/lost 3 of my packages this summer before I started doing this...once it's in the system, I'm covered...
