I found 2 consecutive 2006 $1 B-C's in a strap like a month ago, and I kept them. Late shipments apparenly lol.

 

Hey everyone, just thought id throw up my find, Got change at a mcdonalds a few days ago and ended up getting a 1935 $1 silver certificate in with my change! I was pretty happy about that, Serial # is X 99933708 I, condition is fair to good. I'll get a pic up asap just for the heck of it.

 

Hey guys! It's been awhile but here are my finds from today! 2003 star and a 2003-a mixed ladder.

 

I used to be a cashier and i held onto old bills that came my way. I have a 1934 Twenty that is in pretty good shape. Is it worth hanging onto? I have thing for Morgans but I have been hanging onto these bills I collected for about 15 - 20 years now. I don't know anything about what they are worth though.

 

Suzy - please take a picture and post it and we can tell you more about your 1934 $20. You might want to put it in it's own thread. If you have a number of them, take a picture of them together and we can give you an idea, and some of us might even be potential purchasers.

I just got on here yesterday and I am not sure how you start a thread.

My camera is at my mother's right now in case we needed it to make sure the movers behaved but I have been looking around on ebay just to check it out. I did notice it is a Bank of Richmond Virginia note. I don't know what the star on some of them mean. Mine doesn't have a star but it is in pretty good shape. I sealed it into a plastic bag years ago by putting the plastic bag in a book and melting the edge shut.

 

I know I'm back home because I went through 500 singles in FRB straps after I got back last week and didn't find anything from before 1999. I guess the streak ended the same time my trip did, lol. Things aren't all bad, though. I got talking to a bank teller about finding old coins and notes and she recalled that she had an old note. She pulled out this 1988 $100 B-A note, which I bought. This note is in fairly nice condition and 1988 is known for being a tough series. Does anyone know if 1988 hundreds are in demand or otherwise worth keeping if they are not in Mint CU condition?

 

I've spent probably 10 '88s. Mostly B-C blocks. Very common and easy to get for me. I can recall one being AU that I held on for a while but had to spend and the rest VF-XF. I'd consider your note a spender in my book.

 

The series 1988 $100 notes were dominated by the New York (B) district. Over 444 million printed total , and over 99 million printed for the B-A block. BNR shows face value for everything through XF, and $150 for CU examples. New York was also the only district for Star notes for the series.

 

Based on what tbud and Steve have said, it sounds like my note is a spender. Still though, it is fun finding older notes like this in circulation.

 

Found my first $1 2009 San Francisco star today.Sorry no photo serial L00494354* i see these were printed last november so it didnt long for these to start turning up.Its a strong very fine condition.

I received these today from a bank teller. I don’t know much about Canadian money but I thoughtthey would be cool to put in the kids collection.

 

Did you get those at a US bank? For exchange rate?

 

I got them in Montana and I paid $33.00 American.

 

That's not bad at all, according to www.xe.com $33 Canadian is worth $33.20 American so you made 20 cents on the transaction and you scored two obsolete denominations from the bank. Also, being from 1969, the $20 note is a nice find as well.

 

Got this $20 from an ATM. Looks like it's from the first run of star notes for this series.

I would grade it Unc-61. It's definitely better than 58, but not as good as 63 - with a small wrinkle on the top edge.

My supervisor at the bank found me a 1963B J--C $5 bill that was in fabulous condition. This bill literally could've been pulled out of a mint pack that day, it was so crisp!
