Which quarter is the earlier die state?

    So, below are two Anna May Wong state quarters found in circulation. Both I believe would grade MS.
    Is this a Satin strike or just a different die state then the second one. Both were shot under the same lighting and settings.

    2nd and more common of the two surfaces.

    I would guess the second. The fine features are smoothened and evenly well rounded.

    The first one…there seems to be better detail in the eyelashes…imo…Spark

    The first one is the earlier die state. You can see the onset of the fatigue in the second one in the radial flow lines. There aren't a heck of a lot of them, but there's enough to tell. That one will reflect the light better for them, so it's not all a negative.

    Let me get the kiddo off to school and I will look and see.
    These quarters have two different surfaces. The first one is extremely frosty and not the normal look I see from these new Quarters.

    The second has very smooth and almost reflective surfaces. (like a proof) not PL.
