Man, that Star Spangled $5 piece in both proof and uncirculated is showing low production numbers. I might seriously do some belt tightening to get one if these numbers continue to lag as years end approaches.........

I have a set of the 5 ounce ATB (from 2010 - 2011) set that is put out by the mint, but have been contemplating getting away from the set. I am beginning to reasses my decision to drop out of the hunt for this coin. It all resolves around the fact that I am really attacted to the 2012 offerings. The downside to this collection is the amount of space that it is going to require for storage. I'm beginning to think that saying the ATB proof silver and uncirculated sets are going to be more advantageious and less space intensive, but the detail in a 5 ounce coin is suburb. So I may get back into the race with both the mint sets and 5 ounce coins.

The commerative gold coin is an eyecatcher and some belt tightening appears to be in order.

I wish that the mint would get off the pot and fix their so-called production problems with the 1st spouse coins. I don't understand you this problem could affect just the 2012 coins all of a sudden. Part of me believes that they would like to kill of the series under the quise of production productions.

By the way, I just don't see any advantage to purchasing the uncirculated rolls of the S mint ATB quarters, but will probably end up purchasing one roll of each of the 2012 quarters after the last 2012 S quarter is released.

Bit the bullet and ordered the Star Spangled Banner $5 unc. I'm concerned there might be a price adjustment on these pieces in the near future as the price of gold begins to climb.
