    Hey guys,

I'm a new user here, so excuse my noob status. I recently found a $2 1976 star note from the Richmond VA reserve. It has a pretty low serial number and it is in really good shape for how old it is. i'm gonna try to put pics up. Can anyone tell me anything about this bill as far as a value would go? Thanks!

The book I have has the following for a 1976 Richmond Star note (estimate)

    Fine- Face Value
    XF - $15
    CHCU $75
    Gem CU $100

    Nice serial to boot.

The book I have only lists this note in Chcu, and at a price of $60, in that condition.

I'm not sure how much your note would bring, but it's a great find, and a very nice note.

    Welcome to the forums. :smile

Thanks guys! I'm surprised that it can bring such a premium for a bill I just found at work!

It's the 3rd best 1976 $2 star note, behind Minneapolis (I*) and Kansas City (J*), all runs of 640,000.
Yours appears to be a high XF or low AU, and has a fairly low serial number. Great find.
