I found this coin, I don't know much about how to tell coins value, All I know is everyone I showed it to has a real big interest in getting it off me. I've been told it's worth $20 a few times, I've been told it's fake and I've been told its in "really really good condition" and I just got off the phone with a guy that's been doing this for "45 years" and knows more than 95% of people and he told me it's worth $150 and it's in "VG-8" condition. These are the picture's he saw to determine it's worth $150 And I've been told it's worth 500 - 600 a few times. Any help would be appreciated
I agree with the VG-8, and I think it's worth $150-$200. When that dealer told you it was worth $150, it was probably what he would pay for it. If a dealer paid full value, he wouldn't make any money. Chris
The truth is, it has a lot of wear on it. Silver, .77344(silver content) x $28.14(price of silver per ounce)= $21.76. However, it's a CC struck Morgan, but not the rarest. Though CC struck 677,000, New Orleans only struck 300,000 that year. Numismedia.com lists an 1893CC in G4 $178, VG8 $228, and F12 $300. However, I say it's G and worth about $145. If you had clearer, large pics, it would be easier to see details needed to determine authenticity.
I'd go even slightly better than that--VG 8-F12, and say that the person was lowballing you. It is a good date for Morgans, and probably worth more like $175-200.
