I love the "Saints"! Just need to get myself one... Anyway.. common date, looks like it was in a bag with other coins for a while, eagle's feathers defined and sharp, Victory's foor sharp and defined, looks like some wear on the capitol and the hand grasping the torch. Because of so many dings, I'd give it an AU-58. Then again, I don't have any Saints.... :goofer: :hammer:
I'd say it's in the 62 range. Gold is a VERY soft metal and a big gold coin which looks MS-60 (like a beat-up Morgan) would garner a higher score than a large silver coin (the same beat-up Morgan) would. I'm talking about large gold coins, Eagle or a Double Eagle. You could call it market grading associated with gold. B
A very nice coin. Alot of small bag marks , but still I think it could go as high as MS63 but my personnal guess would be MS60.
I'd guess AU58 or MS60-61 because I think I see rub on the legs.If it is uncirculated I don't see it going higher than 62.
A nice coin, but small abrasions on the obverse, and numerous contact marks as well as several breaks in the rays on the reverse I can only give it MS60/61.
id have to say MS-63 PCGS MS-64 NGC, to many small scratches in the prime focal area on the obverse to go any higher.
I would say AU-58, there appears to be a slight amount of wear on the leg as well as all the bagmarks.
call me crazy... I'll bet you it would get an honest MS-64 at either NGC or PCGS. I think you should submit it. I don't think that's wear on the leg. It's hard to tell from photos, but the luster is unbroken. It's a Mint State piece. When all 5 of Liberty's fingers show on the torch *-and-* there's good definition on the flames, you can get MS-64. It's a shame there are the bag marks... that might drag it down to MS-63.
I don't know guys. I don't think it would pull a 64. The jump from 63 to 64 is where I usually notice the largest difference in quality with gold coins and I think this coin is too baggy to make it. I give it an MS62. Of course, Leadfoot's wonderful, huge pictures may make the flaws stand out more, so maybe MS63.
This coin is a low ms-63 IMO. There appears to be some light friction on the obverse, but none of the reverse, so I think this coin is definitely uncirculated. The luster seems to be in order, however the coin is quite baggy on the obverse.
