Hello all, I was going through some old coins that I hadnt looked at in years, ran across this. Just looking for some opinions on it (condition/value, ect). Its an interesting coin, at first I thought that it was an antique fake till I saw that all these 7 Kreuzers were overstuck 12 Kreuzers. The "afterimage", I guess you could say, of the 12 Kreuzer is really visible on the front, and the back still has some lettering from the original 12 Kreuzer coin. Dont know if that makes a difference, but thought I'd point it out. Thanks alot.
Krause identifies your coin as KM #2129 from Austria, and notes that "...overstruck on 1795 dated 12 Kreuzer pieces, KM #2137." The 1802-C catalogs $25 in XF and $75 uncirculated (2011). ========= I don't understand what the "Franc" refers to, in your title?
Thanks. The "Franc" part refers to me getting what I thought was the correct name of the coin from ebay. In my defense, ebay is the first thing that comes up when you search for 7 "Kreuzer"...
