New York International Numismatic Convention - Going this year

Good evening gang,

I was supposed to tend the New York International Numismatic Convention in January but because of the baby and all that comes with it I had to pospone until now upcoming show in 2013.

The reason I want to go there is because it´s a international Convention so the focus is not all on us coins and I have never been drunk at the Waldorf Astoria. I have dreamed of going to a big convention for years and now finaly as I cant make another baby that fast it seems i´m going.

I would imagine some of you have gone there and would love to hear a comment neg or pos.

I have gone a number of times.

Very nice show.

In the past it was in the WTC, but now the Waldorf.

Nice show, nice folks.

 

Lucky bugger. Being an accountant sucks sometimes, as generally anything Jan-Feb is out of bounds in terms of vacation scheduling.

I have to make do with CICF, but would love to be able to get drunk with you at the Waldorf someday.

 

When I do get to the show it is around an appointment [for taxes] in the city.

 

If you change your mind find me at the bar the first one on me.

I cant wait Treashunt glad you liked it. I aksed my girlfriend if she wanted to come with me and I got the fastest no I have ever heard in my life. It was like she was saying it in a speed unkwon to science.

 

I attended three years ago. It was a good show for the ancient and world coin folks but not much there for a US collector. Still, it was worth a trip to see lots of stuff I don't normally see. If I'm not out of town in early January I might take you up on that drink offer Siggi.


[edit] Oh, and the show was well attended. It was downright crowded.

I've never made the NYI, too far for me. But I do make the Chicago International almost every year.

 

So Siggi, she said "NO" before you could even ask...yeah, I get that too. BTW, it has nothing to do with science, women are programmed to say no. We on the other hand are programmed to say yes...yes dear I'll take the trash out.

Planning on going this year. Last years show was pretty good though it was a blur for me considering I had just got into coins. This year should be more enjoyable since I'm more knowledgable now... I hope.
