How Much Should I Expect For These Mint Sets?? 1960-1998

I have double mint sets *Philadelphia/Denver* for 1960-1964

The rest of the sets are:

1965, 1968, 1969, 1970, 1971, 1972, 1973, 1974,
1976, 1977, 1978, 1979, 1980, 1981, 1984, 1985,
1986, 1987, 1988, 1989, 1990, 1991, 1992, 1993,
1995, 1996, 1997, and 1998


I'm asking if anyone has any personal experience selling these, as I wait for responses Ill be checking out ebay for past auctions. -Zach

This is very difficult to price out as a lot. You will have the best chance of selling these separately to an individual who may be missing a year or two. After pocket change, mint sets are the most common item in the hobby. It's only the Silver Proof Sets that have increased across the board because of rising silver prices. The high value only exists in the first few years of the standard sets. Another problem is dealers are loaded with these. Several will not even buy them. My guess is, if you can get 40% to 60% of red book value, you did very well. If you break even, take the money and run. It just might take some time and effort.

 

Somewhere in the neighborhood of $200 - $230.

 

$183 in silver for the 1960,61,62,63,64,65,68,69.

I've bought a few sets lately. For the 60-64 silver sets I've got some for generally around $20-25 apiece with shipping. They are selling higher for auctions with people just driving up the bids simply because they say "90% SILVER" in the title. The 40% sets (65-71) I've been getting for $8-15 with shipping. The rest I only buy if they're part of the whole lot, but usually they're only selling for $4-8 on average if there's no silver in them.

I'd agree with BU, if I saw that whole lot up for sale, I'd offer around $200 for it, simply for the silver sets which I'd keep, and re-sell the regulars.

Just sold those 28 sets for $129.72 + Shipping

Each of the double mint sets from 1960-1964 each have a bid of $45 atm and ends tomorrow *$225 for all 5*

So without the double sets going up all in all the 33 sets went for $354.72 .. much more than i was expecting

 

Indeed....dealer inventories are stuffed with these. Last trip to my local shop he was opening them to make rolls or to cherrypick the best coins for individual sale or slabbing.

 

$363.71 was the final on all 33.

Seems like the earlier sets 1964 *P+D* and earlier go for $45+ which makes sense seeing as theres nearly $30+ alone in silver
