Has anyone seen this in a set before? I ordered a number of 2006 mint sets, all of which have arrived. I did find one item of interest, that I've never had happen to me before. In one set, the dime is facing the opposite direction of all other coins. By this, I mean that all of the coins show the obverse on the same side of the packet, except for the dime. I doubt that this would attach a premium to the set, but it is interesting. None of my sets back to '64 have this. Thanks, Steve
With no telling how many million of these sets will be produced, it doesn't surprise me that workers get bug eyed or get to the piont that they just don't care which way these sets get made. I guess the mint could have an automated system to package mint sets and someone in quality inspection let this slip by them. But to answer your question I have never seen a set as you discribe. I have seen a set with two nickels and no dime. Again someone must have been asleep at the wheel. Neat set though! You know the mint doesn't like to let anything like this or error get out, specially today.
