Found these while going through rolls, sorry I can't get a better picture of the sides right now. You can see silver and clad on both quarters. Steve
Actually, those are light not heavy, if those weights are grams; as the Washingtons should weight 6.25 grams.
I thought I read somewhere that there is a silver clad from the 70's that weighed 5.80 that is an error.
Clad , 5.67 +/- .227 grams , so 5.45 - 5.89 grams is within tolerances. Both are on the high end , but within range. Welcome to the forum! Jim
No, they stopped making silver quarters in 64 a few have found dated 1965, very rare though, and they didn't make another silver quarter until 1992 (unless you count the 1976 40%)
There is a silver clad quarter from the 70's but it is not an error, the 1976-S 40% silver Bicentennials. And they did weigh 5.75 grams +/- .2 grams.
