Hey guys how much is a 1955-S Wheat Penny worth I have about every grade except BU:(. I've done some reasearch but almost all the sites I found where store sites so I think thats what they would buy them for. So any ideas?

Unless it's BU, it's worth five cents.

You might get that much for an AU, but I will be you would be lucky to get 3¢ for most of them until the price of copper goes up.

5 cents is the normal, retail price for avg circ wheat cents.....the 55-S is an average year. These only go into the >$1 area when they are MS red.

I have a habit of answering with retail prices. To clarify, the shop that I worked in, would have paid .03 cents and sold them for .05 cents.

Yeah but darn tough to find in circulation or bags. I remember when I was 10 this was the only lincoln in the 41-current book I had to buy from a dealer. Yeah, it was only 50 cents for a BU red one, but these were hoarded pretty extensively.

So, in my mind its a scarcish cent in terms of later cents, just not worth much since so many were hoarded. :)
