Bonniview - T&P shows 337 known. The Speelman White is much more common, over twice as many known.

And nope, not on eBay... a champion angler never reveals his best fishin' spot...

VERY NICE addition to the collection. IMO, any time you can get your hands on rarer, lesser known notes, go for it!

That's my thinking, you don't get deals every day, gotta take em when I get them. Note looks even better in hand, that scan came out darker for some reason, might be because it was in the holder when I did it. The portrait is just boffo and looks great, wish the top margin hadn't been attacked by a den of honey badgers but I am extremely pleased with the pickup.

I actually got an even better pickup to post soon... quite the eBay bargain it turns out.

I may hate you a little right now. It's okay though, i'm quietly saving up for a massive auction coming up in October. Let's hope the rest of the world doesn't catch wind of it though. Some NICE Treasury notes are in this lot...VF + examples!

Got quite a few notes but I'm posting them slowly. Don't want to look like I'm spamming my notes. :D

Today's note is brought to you from Greece, which has suddenly become a big interest of mine. Just love the cultural heritage you get on their designs...

That 1953 doesn't seem too common...

I do too, and notice that one's printed by ABNCo. Amazing how the artists and printers were covering most of the world already. Do you have the three french-printed ones?

    Dave -

I actually am not a fan of the French prints myself - they look too... French! I think those are a bit rare aren't they, pretty delicate notes that were taken out of circulation pretty quickly as they tended to wear very rapidly?

I've got my eyes on some more Greek notes now, some really yowza ones that I hope I can bring home. Someone posted one, the 1956 1000 Drachma with the frieze of Alexander at the Battle of Issus on the reverse, and I got hooked...

They are the typical thin french paper, yes. I didn't know the story of pulling them out of circulation early, I suppose its possible. Good luck with the Greece collection, post 'em as you get 'em!

Just arrived today. Not that old, but as perfect as the day it was printed...flawless, and perfectly centered ($10 over face).

Those Greece notes looks interesting, I'm looking into buying some too but am still undecided on which ones. And though I like the French notes, I find them a bit too artsy. They look like paintings that belong on a canvas not currency.

Awesome centering on that $50, and for $10 over face... sweet. Can't argue with that.

Icerain, you should hold off on buying them until I am all done collecting... I don't need no competition out there!

But if you MUST, go here... http://greekcurrency.110mb.com/index.htm

Every Greek note. Great resource. Just don't bid on nothin' for a few more weeks..

I will try, but some of the notes on that site are tempting.
