I am not an avid collector of coins, but I happen to come across a quarter that instantly caught my eye. I have been trying to ascertain if this quarter holds any significant value, other than its de facto worth, and I couldn't find any thing on the internet about it. This picture contains the quarter in question in a side-by-side comparison of a "regular" quarter. This quarter is a 2001 series New York state coin issued by the Denver mint. I would appreciate it if any of you have any information on this quarter to let me know. Thanks.
There are companies that sell colorized quarters, halves, and probably dollar coins, as well as colorized $2.00 bills. It's a spender, not a keeper. Google image search on colorized coins shows examples : https://www.google.com/search?q=colorized+coins&hl=en&safe=off&tbo=d&prmd=imvns&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ei=fucbULb1K8vsiwLt4YCICQ&ved=0CEYQ_AUoAQ&biw=1920&bih=955 Joe
