So I found this nickel several years back and I was wondering what's wrong with it. It has crater in it everywhere and it looks beet to **** but it's beyond the point of normal pmd. I can email anyone who wants to help photos. Thank you.
Are you saying it has been damaged past the point of normal PMD so it is now an error? Please explain. It would be best if you could post good photos here.
There are hundreds if not thousands of ways to damage a coin after it has left the mint. I would say there is no such thing as looking to far past PMD stage to not be PMD.

It looks like it's been in a large bonfire and then it's been run over a few times by a winnebago and then used on a work bench to help straighten nails and then used to pry open a few dozen paint cans. That's all I can see for now.
Probably. We've got a couple of chemists and scientists here as members. They'll be able to tell you for sure.
