    2006 $5 in great shape.

Yeah, it's actually kind of neither. In poker, you'd have what's known as a Royal Sampler...

When I first read this I thought it was premature. Lol. I was born three month premature. :)

    1/2 ladder + 1/2 radar = 1 spender.

OP: Instead of just ridiculing you like unfortunately everyone else that has responded (or just unhelpfully saying to spend), I will educate you, since we are an "educational forum". A radar is a note where you can read the S/N frontwards and backwards and it is the same number. An example: 47044074. Either way, it read out as the same number, if you read it from right to left or left to right. A ladder is a note that the numbers go up or down in consecutive order in the serial number. An example would be 12345678 or 234567890 or something similar to this. As someone else has stated the obvious, you have half of each. What you actually have is none other than a trinary, which few people actually collect, and they usually don't carry any premiums. A trinary is a S/N that is made up of the same 3 digits. Similarly, a binary is the same thing, but just made up of 2 digits, and highly more desirable than a trinary. I would guess most collect binaries. Here is everything you could ever want to know about fancy S/N's:

    Enjoy!

Rest of responders: Not trying to be rude at all, but I will admit that I was a bit dissapointed to see that no one offered an educational link or some educational info, or any facts to back up your responses. I was once in this person's shoes, not knowing everything there is to know about paper money, and I remember what it's like. It sucks. Just a few sentences can save someone from being misinformed, and from further posting posts like this that are incorrect. As a group of weirdos, where most people think we're insane for collecting what we collect, we have to stick together!

    I'm not sure the OP was looking for an education, or currency lesson. His question was ;

"But...wanna know if this serial would have ANY kind of premium."

And, BTW Travis, his note is not a trinary.

I didn't reply to this thread to get in an argument. I'm just saying that, if you see someone incorrectlly saying they have something that they don't, why not take 2 minutes out of your time to correct them? If we don't correct things like this, the whole purpose of this thread is defeated. I can quote one of our moderators recently stating that this is an "educational forum". Make sense?
You win on the not trinary thing. I'm away from home and on my iPhone. It has a small screen. I didn't really pay enough attention to the S/N he provided. Yet I still disagree with you on not giving him some educational info, Steve.

Can't we all just get along?

Who's not getting along? What? Everytime someone expresses a different opinion, and we share thoughts and facts on it, wer're "not getting along"? I don't know about Steve, but me? I'm just having a discussion and sharing my thoughts. Nothing more, nothing less.

It looks like he somewhat knew what he had when he said; "It's a ladder AND a radar. "

The note is 50% radar and 50% ladder.......and under his name it says Coin Enthusiast.

I'm guessing he just wanted to know if he should throw it up on eBay, or the BST. It's another "what's it worth" thread.

Yup... And next time he finds a "half radar/half ladder", he can yet again, post it here and ask yet again, and we can all yet again, tell him no, spend it. Yay! But I have an idea! Let's instead save time and get people properly informed. Now does that make sense, Steve? If I posted something that I thought had value, and I just got 10 different responses all saying the same 2 words over and over again, (no and spend), I would want to know why so I could start looking for what is good.
And the fact that he's a coin enthusiast furthermore proves his lack of knowledge and understanding of paper money. I stand by my original comment.

Precisely, that's my point summed up in 2 words. Thank you, Rick.

Exactly... and is probably why most responded as they did.

He would know! and I agree... Sorry!

TBudwiser already took care of the why, so I can stick with the short answer. :) BTW: I agree, a little help can go a long way. Sometimes we want to avoid trying to teach someone that may or may not want to listen. We forget about the others that read the thread and can learn from it even if the OP has moved on. That said, the OP could have come back and asked why when Jim posted his answer. I would have, but that's just me.

Maybe I misunderstood Rick's comment? Why would what Rick said be the reason for why everyone responded as they did? If the OP were to reap (collect or gather) from his sow (aka his post), how would he reap anything if no body provided some info for the OP to reap?

The thread is titled Any prem?
The OP is asking for any possible value above face. This is what he sowed. He did not ask, what do I have here ?, or what is this called ? . It didn't appear that he was looking for anything other than possible value above face. So, he reaped answers to his question, answers like "spender", which translates to, little to nothing above face, or close but no cigar. The OP asked a value question and received a value answer. He reaped what he sowed. Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar.
