Does this penny have an error? 1973 D

    I look very closely at any penny I come across. The "L" in liberty is so small and faint on this penny. It also looks like the penny was stamped a little too hard. PENNY.jpg

    Welcome to Coin Talk!

    The faint lettering is more than likely the result of a grease filled die. It isn't considered an error. Strikes can appear weak or strong depending on a number of factors but isn't considered an error either.

    Don't be afraid to post pics of coins you have questions about, the members here are very willing to help and are very knowledgeable.
