I look very closely at any penny I come across. The "L" in liberty is so small and faint on this penny. It also looks like the penny was stamped a little too hard. Thanks, guys!
Welcome to Coin Talk! The faint lettering is more than likely the result of a grease filled die. It isn't considered an error. Strikes can appear weak or strong depending on a number of factors but isn't considered an error either.
