well my scale only has one dec and it is between 5.7 and 5.8 i think closer to 5.8 i also have a standing liberty silver quarter and they weigh the same
At that weight there is no way it could be 90% silver. A silver quarter is 6.25 grams. To one decimal place a plated clad quarter would be between 5.7 and 5.8 exactly where your coin weighs.
yeah the standing is worn no date so it is worth nothing besides silver i took it to a place in town and he said that it was plated but i wanted to make sure because it would prob be worth quite a bit and it was a pawn shop and i thought he was trying to f with me
Question... I have a 1967 Washington Quarter... Its substantially thinner than my other 1967 and the look of it (by the color texture and feel) seems to be silver. But it definitely has a core... Its not brown tho... More like a light pink. Definitely lighter than all the quarters ive come into contact with... Its weight was just about 5.8 but the size of it is about 3/4 the width of any other quarter... It also has a much higher pitch "ting" sound than the rest... And on top of that, after extensively magnifying and observing it I can see that it was definetly struck on top of another coin. If I turn it at certain angles with the light i can see a few blurred letters and there's a random faint "P "mint mark it looks like in front of Washington's mouth but its horizontal to his face... It looked pretty beat up at first glance then I started looking closely and after wiping it down with a wet cloth ( not sure if Im supposed to do that but I did... Im new to this and there was like green crap on it lol) well anyway so after i did that was when i noticed the crazy lines and deformed look of it... Anyone ever see something like this? Or should I be figuring out how to go get it graded? Maybe they can tell me what's up with it?
Pennies, nickels and dimes all show 1975. It's just quarters and half dollars that don't have 1975. And Ike dollars as jeffb mentioned. As those 3 were the only ones to have bicentennial designs.
I have a 1967 quarter dollar coin which is silver and is 90 percent as there is a bronze colour round the edge . I don' now anything about coins I received it in change from a sweets shop 20 years ago and as a child always thought America looked amazing . So my big question is it worth anything and if so how much cheers lee
