Hello, I was just wondering what the best error coin you have found looking through state quarters. I have just recently started and so far the best one I have is a WV quarter with a clogged U and a die crack clear across the neck. Here are a couple of pics. Hope to see more of yours.
BY far the best is the first pic. Mass. reverse clad layer missing. The second being the low leaf Wisconsin. Say what you will I think it's neat. Happy hunting, Michael
my best state error find is a die chip on a kansas quarter. you can see a picture of it if you go to the search option and type in " kansas error". got four of these in a row out of a roll of quarter from the mint. to me it appears as though the buffalo just got shot in the hump.
I have one just like yours, fastfun111. :high5: I’ve found lots of small die cracks and chips on base of the bust though. They seem to be common. My best finds are a large die crack on the rev. of a Georgia and a 14deg. rotated die Minnesota.
The Minnesota Dbl Die I just found (see post) is the best, and a california with Knife error is cool. I've also found 6 "spitting horse" delawares, numerous strike (mechanical) doubles and a couple of grease strike thru errors.
I almost forgot about my Florida Qtr with a passenger riding in the 4th window from back. If you check the original forum for this item you can see all the differant names for this you guys came up with. I think the Capt. Kirk qtr was the winner.
Hello Happycobra I went through anout 4 rolls last night and I have about 26 of the filled U and die crack ones.
Hi, my best found... is a New Hampshire with the reverse clad layer missing. Even I knew what that was.. :thumb:
Those are some great finds. I am still searching through about 20 rolls of WV quarters I have left and 10 Nevada rolls. The Nevadas is alot harder to find a clean coin instead of one with die cracks, there on almost every coin.!!!!
I buy and search 2-4 rolls a month. Just the quarters I spend or make change for the soda machines. There are enough minor die cracks out there to fill a folder. That’s what I’m trying to doing. I have about 10% of the “D” and about 50% of the “P”. :mouth:
