Pretty much what the title says. I'm a roll hunter and I picked up a box today and the entire box is perfect looking 1964 Canadian Nickels. They aren't in mint rolls though.
will I just be doing more bad (damage to the coin) then good (odds of actually finding one) just noticed that there is a star on the box. I wonder if this was someone's stash that accidentally got deposited.
Please do check for the extra water line. It will be on the reverse just under the engraver's initials. The extra water line variety will have three total under the initial, the regular one will only have two. It will be worth your while because those varieties go for $5-10 in VG condition. Mint state pieces could go for upwards of $50. So what's the harm in seeing if you can make an extra buck or two?
And here's a reference photo of what the extra water line would look like, almost touching the initials.
Very nice array, I'm shooting for average grades from MS64-65 with the occasional 66 in there. An extra water line in that condition will go for buko bucks.
so I've decided since I'm still new at this and my cash flow is kind of tight I would like to sell at least some of these on ebay. I was thinking of listing 40 coins in a bin auction for $1 each plus $2 shipping (bubble envelope and 2x2 standard shipping no insurance or tracking). i know I should ship with tracking number but in order to keep shipping low on a $1.00 item
It will take an extremely (years, decades even) long time to sell them at $1 each, and it probably isn't worth the effort. I'd search them all for the XWL and sell the rest by the roll. If you can get a few times the face value that is pretty good. Maybe $6-8 per roll?
Agreed! You will probably not sell many individually. I would group them by lots of 5 or 10. Anything but single.
