What would you be willing to pay for something like this? I'm at a loss. :^)

Yeh you can't get melt at a PM shop since they have to make a profit, so they sell for a little above melt and buy a little less than melt. If you like coins though it is a nice novelty and I would just keep it.

Thanks for the ideas and opinions, I don't think it's worth trying to put it on the bay so I'll end up keeping it. :)

It's a nice paperweight. Too bad the coins aren't all of the same date.

These two items are on my office desk. :smile I enjoy looking at them every day. I think I paid something like $20 for the 1989 coin cube. I have the original box at home & it probably has a price on it. The price I paid for the cube had nothing to do with the numismatic or intrinsic value of the coins. The value to me was in the item itself.

I also have a couple rocks on my office desk. One is quartz and one is Rhodochrosite. Let me know if you want to see a photo. :D

I had this 1964 cube for awhile. I sold it last year on Ebay for 23 bucks I think.silver was a little higher.

When I was a kid one of my friends Dad had one of those and it had me mesmerized. I think it leans more to being a collectible paperweight rather than being a numismatic item but it is both. It's basically something for a coin collector to set on an end table or desk.
The coins are probably near impossible to get out retaining the appearance they have in the plastic here. I would imagine it would be like epoxy glue on the coins, stuck right fast to the surface.
Currently these are fetching between $35.00 and $40.00 left as it is on eBay, one even got $70.00 so I certainly wouldn't try busting it up for the coins.
I want one now, thanks for jogging that memory.

I don't like it so if were mine I've put it in a freezer overnight and smash it to bits with a hammer !( wearing safety goggles).
