Did any of you ever complete an entire denomination series? An example would be a one cent piece from every year (1793-present) or something like that? Seems like a very daunting task but I've been thinking about it.

It is possible to complete "easily", any complete set of 2 cent pieces is an entire denomination series

I have a complete denomination set of MS nickles and am edging very close to completing the proof set. 1 Buffalo (matte) proof and 8 proof liberty nickles to go. Shield (minus 67 w/rays) and Jefferson proof sets are complete.

There is no posible way that I could do/afford it, however I do know someone who has been working on a complete nickel set for over 8 years and is getting pretty darn close :)

I have completed a date set of US Cents, Two Cents, and Canadian Large and Small cents. Only spent 50+ years doing it.

I only need about three dates of large cent (all common date) and the last few years of Lincoln cents to have a complete run of cents.
My two cents are complete. I only need one three cent, 1884. If you consider nickels and half dimes to be different denominations then I've had complete nickels as well. I say had because I haven't kept up the recent issues the past few years. I also have the four regular issue 20 cent pieces. No 76-CC which wasn't really issued in my opinion.

If he's telling the truth, you could make a quick profit by flipping the 1894-s dime... :)

Lol, funny. The 67 with rays is one of only 2 MS shields I own, and one of the very few slabs I own. I got a PCGS 66 cheap at an auction in 96. :)

Of course Eliasberg was famous for his complete set of US coins as listed in the Red Book.
CORRECTION- AS LISTED IN WAYTE RAYMOND'S STANDARD CATALOG. ELIASBERG ESSENTIALLY COLLECTED ONE OF EACH REGULAR ISSUE US COIN.

How do you guys like this Simpson set of $4 (Stella) gold pieces?

I've got the Liberty nickels complete in both MS64 and PF64. If we add Medoraman's 67 shield w/ rays then it would be a really nice display! You guys send all your nickels to me & I'll take a photo of the combined collection for everyone at CT:devil:

Kirkuleez, If you have the 1885 V nickel in MS, I would very much like to see a picture of it.

Yeah, I hate that. Last month I dreamed I put in a ton of bids to a European auction and there was bad weather there the day they held it, so I got a package in the mail so large it had to come in several packages. My son waking up at 3am ruined the chance for me to open them and see what all I got!

I completed the entire dollar series including the ultra rarities like the Gobrecht pieces. Would have kept them too if I didn't have to wake up ;)
