these were dropping out of rolls a few months back. i was able to grab about 13 of them. i would assume they are only plated? does anyone know anything about them?
They would be plated as these would not even mistakenly be struck on a gold planchet. Only Mint that has gold planchets, that I know of, is West Point.
Best guess is HSN, mail order "special offer", or the like. The 2000's were pretty lucrative for the platers, and it seems they moved a lot of overpriced merchandise.
