I doubt it would go 67 if that is what you are asking. The nicks are in the wrong spots. But I don't see why it would not get a 66. That is a nice looking coin! And that is a tough date to get such a nice coin.
I have to go with 64 tops. The contact marks on the forehead and chin are really distracting. The reverse looks great, but there is that rim bump around 10 o'clock that keeps the grade down. Overall a very nice coin but not the great payday.
Pcgs/ngc 66 with a shot at ngc 67 depending on just how badly the obverse nicks show up in-hand under a light.
If you have a chance to submit it cheaply, even a 66 can go for a fair penny for this date. NGC @ $60ish and PCGS @ $200ish. If you have a lot to submit, why not add this one? BTW, the vast majority of my GTG coins get UNDERGRADED!
Not sure it will be worth it. I pay a flat $25 for grading with my dealer and I went back and forth on this coin....thus the post. The raw one in my main collection is actually nicer so I decided to just sell this one.
dang.. lets see the better one ; ) I think this one is a 65+ candidate.. then n1 for my tendency to grade a tad low. So I'll guess 66 firm.
As noted by others the bag/contact marks are in the wrong places. I'm always conservative in grading so take this with a grain of salt but 64 seems appropriate.
If that is flat fee is for PCGS, I would do it. From what I can read here as well as the pictures, I think you should get a 66 from them, but only a dream of a 67. If the fee is only for NGC, I would probably also do it just on the hope that it might, but NGC is a close call.
Yea, he charges me $25 for any of the big 3 that I want. I should probably slab the one in my main collection instead though.....but I generally don't like slabs....so both will stay raw. LOL
LOL....well, I don't want to go to the bank to dig it out! The one bad thing about storing the good stuff in a box, it's a PAIN to get out.
