An 1890 IHC is a common coin worth a few dollars in nice, circulated condition. That's it. The rest of the "information" given about the coin from the seller is pure, unadulterated garbage.

You might try getting a picture. Reading between the lines, this sounds like it might be a foreign coin. Doubtfully, but I know there is a Liberian coin 1890 that is relatively rare.

Wait a minute. Supposing the guy has a coin with a population of 5. Do you really think he would let it got for $250 ? Come on. I mean, I have a coin with a total graded authenticated population of 4 and I would not let it go for less than about $12-13,000, if that. What I am saying is, just how rare do you think it is, if the seller is willing to part with it for a mere $250.

I mean, I have friends who swap error cents from time to time and they will invariabley say the coin was worth $4-500. But you cannot buy one for that, so I think that's info for the tax man ?

This deal just doesn;t ring true to me at all.

Well that certainly isn't something made later than the 80s, that they have made. I would have it appraised before even thinking about selling it, and a trade--no way. If you then want a coin, go to a reputable shop where the seller is trustworthy.

Good choice, if it's an original pedal car you can easily get $600-$800 out of it.

I actually made a mistake about the IHC or what someone is calling "penny head". The penny I have is a common date in F 15 that I got for $2.75 but higher grades don't go for too much more from what I seen for common dates. It is rather nice I think. Would you like to trade your pedal car for it? I should stand to make a nice profit off the deal. I am also willing to throw in a very rare, "penny ugly head". It's so ugly even the dealer who sold it could not resist calling it ugly. Why own a prestine coin when you can own something rare, rarely ugly. I will also throw in an unopened can of generic soda, from last week since you want some soda.

    70 is a PERFECT number. I don't believe in 70's, let alone IHP 70's

    Skip the deal.

You know what has always bothered me....

Is that a Boy or a Girl? Or does it change from year to year.

Oh the pedal car was made in the 70s and not the 50s? I don't know how much that is worth really, I was thinking it was an original pedal cars.

Oh he was talking about the year of the penny, not the pedal car. Since the pedal car is from the 50s around when the bugs were produced, I wouldn't know the worth but definitely more than a couple common date, circulated, IHCs.

You really need to have that pedal car appraised by a vintage toy dealer. They can be worth quite a bit and it would make sense that it was produced in the 50s, imitating a car mass produced in that time period.

    Confusing thread.

To the op..... get a pic of the coin and post it here so we know what kind of coin it is. Second, for general interest, post a pic of your pedal car. I know a collector of pedal cars (he has about 100 of them restored and some original) and he could give a value for your car.

For all we know we could be talking about a run of the mill low value foreign coin and all the info the seller is giving you is malarky.

Until we see it, we can't help you.
