I was contacted recently to participate in an in-person opinion discussion panel about the US Mint and their products. I'll be attending soon and was wondering if anyone here had any issues I could try and bring up. I plan to mention the pricing on the 2012 SF ASE 2 coin set, and the recent announcement of the Making American History Coin and Currency Set which duplicates one of the 2 coins in the SF ASE 2 coin set.

Anyone have any other issues they think would be a good idea to try and raise?

    Thanks!

What's the issue with the pricing? Sure it was a little higher than what most expected but I still don't see a problem with their pricing of it.

Just exactly that...it was a bit on the high side. They're looking for any kind of input, and I think this is a good item to mention.

But that's based on the expectations from the public where people perceived that it was too high. The public doesn't set the price on the Mint's collectibles they sell though, so I think you can bring it up but it's not going to change anything.

I agree, it probably won't change anything, but when they are asking for feedback it certainly can't hurt to let them know that there were a number of collectors who thought the price point was too high.

PLEASE bring up quality control (especially on the First Spouses). I have had to return HALF of them. Also please ask them to stop sending out coins that someone else returned. There are threads here on Cointalk that provide hard evidence that they do that so do not let them deny it. Please make Quality control a big issue. thanks!

Oh, I thought this thread was about the annoying mint survey box that keeps popping up every time I visit the mint website. How many blasted times do they want me to take the danged thing?
