wanted to post my collection. i just recently started collecting bills and i find that it is quite addicting. i work at a gas station so all of my collection has been from a circulated selection. i know my $2 bill is EXTREMELY common, but hey, who doesnt have one laying around. so please enjoy my collection and feel free to throw a few suggestions/tips/pointers my way, im all ears

You really can't go wrong collecting small denomination notes at face value... just be careful when you start paying more than face for notes. For now, collect away (and be sure when you start keeping 10's and 20's or larger that they have value or that you really enjoy them - you can tie up alot of money real quick in notes that way).

By the by, that radar and $5 star are nice finds...

Thank...i try to stay away from paying more for anything bill wise. I prefer to buy my stuff at face since I am inexperienced

"Bill" collectors are almost universally hated.

You, coinrookie, are a note collector.

    Quite the distinction.

Pretty good start, you can't lose with the fancy serial numbers and silver certificates. And getting them for face value is always good.

    Nice finds coinrookie,

Not to hijack this thread, but anyone know of a site that explains why certain serial numbers are more valuable that others? (eg - stars, radar)
