Eisenhower die crack

    Hi I have a eisenhower bicentenial dollar coin
    With a die crack on the liberty bell and the crack
    That is supposed to be there goes all the way
    Through the lettering on the top of the bell

    Die cracks are a regular occurance on coins. These are caused from dies that are wearing out from use and stress from striking coins.

    They usually don't add much, if any, premium to the coin.

    As an avid Eisenhower collector, the value to me would depend on the length and uniqueness of the die-crack. Yours sounds interesting, but I would need pictures to judge grade and quality of the crack.

    btw, I think the most I've paid for a die-crack Ike was about $15. That crack ran circular around 60% of the coin.
